Live Lecture Translator

Privacy

Effective July 21, 2026

Lecture audio, transcripts, translations, and saved sessions are processed and stored on your device. The project does not operate an account, analytics, advertising, or lecture-data server.

Local processing

The microphone is used only while you choose to record. Silero voice detection, Whisper transcription, OPUS-MT or M2M100 translation, and optional Kokoro speech generation run in your browser. Lecture audio and text are not sent to a project-operated server.

Model downloads

The browser connects to Hugging Face to download public model files when you request them. That service may receive standard network information such as your IP address and browser headers under its own privacy terms.

Saved lectures

Sessions and preferences are stored in browser storage on this device until you delete them or clear site data. The app asks supported browsers to protect this storage from automatic eviction, but the browser may decline. Settings also lets you export and restore a backup of all lectures.

Donations

When support is enabled, donation checkout opens on Stripe's hosted payment page. Live Lecture Translator does not receive or store card details. Stripe's privacy terms apply to information submitted there.
